Dr. Nagla Mohamed Bashir
holds Bachelor`s degree in Rural Economy (with Honor-Division Two- Upper), MSc. And PhD in Agricultural Economics from University of Khartoum. She worked in universities of Zalingei and Nyala. She was appointed as director for peace and development studies at the both mentioned Universities. She is currently an associate professor of agricultural economics at Sudan University of science and Technology. She did many researches and assessments in peace and security and Gender issues in related to food security and Livelihoods. Furthermore, she has facilitated many workshops on conflict analysis and mapping, peacebuilding microbusiness for women and youth. Dr. Nagla is currently a team leader of the following projects:
- Sudan Post Fighting Preparedness done for DT-Global Sudan/USAID July 2024.
- Assessing the Situations of displaced women, women from the host communities, and the engagement of women-Led Peace organizations, and the media in responding to the humanitarian situations, and peacebuilding in Red Sea, Gadarif and Kassala States- the project is funded by UNWOMEN -August 2024/this ongoing research.
Dr. Nagla is a good researcher, she published many papers in peer reviewed international Journals as well is joint researches funded by Ministry of High Education and Scientific Research in fields agribusiness, food security and livelihoods, peacebuilding, women empowerment, etc.
Finally, Dr. Nagla possessed may hard and soft skills including but not limited to using SPSS software in analyzing data, using KOBO to collect data. Additionally, she has excellent experiences in designing research and training programs related to humanitarian sector. She also has an ability to deal with local communities and working in hard environments.
